In World of Warcraft one of the most useful things you can earn is gold. Gold is used to buy top level gear, repair that gear, buy items from other players and even to get access to exclusive mounts and other vanity items. There are several ways to make wow gold and one of those is farming. Mining, Skinning and Herbalism are great gathering professions in World of Warcraft that you can use to farm. So how can you farm wow gold using Herbalism?
The first thing you would need to do is level your character’s Herbalism skill. This involves running through lower level zones collecting herbs for, perhaps, 2-6 hours total. This assumes you have an epic flying mount, which I highly recommend you get first before you farm anything. For complete instructions on how to level herbalism, check out the resource section at the end of this article.
Once you’re level 525 there are a few choice herbs that you can farm. Most players will farm the highest level herbs like Twilight Jasmine and Whiptail, but some people are a little less orthodox and will farm old-world herbs like Sungrass and Goldthorn. Believe it or not, you can often sell old-world herbs for more than the max-level herbs, they just won’t sell as quickly.
Farming Twilight Jasmine
The best place to farm Twilight Jasmine is in Twilight Highlands. This is a level 84-85 zone, so make sure you have reasonably good equipment and an epic flying mount. To find the most Twilight Jasmin fly inland just high enough so that you aren’t attacked by monsters but can still see the ground. Make sure that you turn on ‘track herbs’ in your minimap so that they show up as little yellow dots in the upper right of your screen. You will find Twilight Jasmine inland but you will not find it in the scorched/dark area the map or near the rivers.
Farming Whiptail
Whiptail is the second most valuable herb in Cataclysm. You can find it in two places; both are great for farming it. One is in Uldum, by flying up and down the rivers looking for Whiptail on the banks. Stay away from the sand desert because Whiptail does not grow there. The second place is Tol’Barad, where you will find Whiptail around the swamp to the left of Baradin Hold. This is a great place to farm while you’re waiting for the PvP battle in Tol’Barad to start.
Farming Old-world Herbs
Old-world herbs are herbs that were introduced in a past expansion or in the original version of the game. I won’t explain how to farm each one here; instead I recommend you check out the resource section at the end of this article if you’re interested in details on specific herbs. Otherwise, you can pretty much pick any herb or visit any old world zone to farm herbs. These herbs will not sell as quickly as the other herbs so only farm a few stacks at a time. Sell them and then repeat. You should check the value of the herbs on your realm’s auction house before farming too many.
Hope the above tips will make some sense for you when you try to make some wow gold for your game. Thanks and good luck.
